Privacy policy.
DPX Media ("DPX", "we", "us", "our") builds websites and lead systems for trades businesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website or engage us for work, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
1. Who we are
DPX Media is a sole-trader digital studio operating from Victoria, Australia (ABN 36 386 691 816). You can reach us at dpxwebsites@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect personal information in three ways:
- Information you give us — name, email, phone number, business details, and any message content when you fill out a contact or quote form, email us, or book a call.
- Information collected automatically — basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps, gathered through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookies Policy).
- Live chat messages — if you use the chat widget on our site, we (and our chat provider, HighLevel) collect the messages you send, along with your name and contact details if you choose to provide them, so we can respond to you.
- Information from clients — for active engagements, we may receive business documents, login credentials for third-party services, brand assets, and customer data needed to build and operate your website.
3. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and provide quotes;
- deliver the services you've engaged us for;
- send invoices, project updates, and account communications;
- understand how our site is used and improve it;
- comply with our legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
4. Sharing
We share information only with the people and services we need to do the work, including:
- hosting and infrastructure providers (e.g. Vercel) that run our website and the sites we build;
- our live-chat and CRM provider (HighLevel / LeadConnector), which processes chat messages and contact details so we can reply and manage enquiries;
- email and calendar tools used for client communication;
- analytics services that help us understand site usage;
- professional advisors (e.g. accountants) where required;
- law-enforcement or regulators where we are legally required to do so.
Each provider is bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
5. Where your data lives
Some of our service providers store data outside Australia (most commonly in the United States and the European Union). By using our website or engaging us, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in those jurisdictions, subject to reasonable security safeguards.
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose we collected it, or as required by law (for example, tax records). Quote enquiries that don't become projects are typically deleted within 24 months.
7. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act and other applicable laws you can:
- request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate;
- ask us to delete information we no longer need to hold;
- withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.
To make a request, email dpxwebsites@gmail.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. No system is perfectly secure, but we use modern hosting, encrypted transport (HTTPS), and access controls on our internal tools.
9. Children
Our services are intended for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
11. Contact
Questions, requests, or complaints about this policy can be sent to dpxwebsites@gmail.com. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
